RT Software’s new release of Swift News newsroom graphics system now supports Octopus 12, allowing journalists to create on-air text and images directly within the Octopus NRCS.
RT Software’s new release of the newsroom graphics system Swift News now supports Octopus 12. This update means that journalists can use Swift News to create on-air text and images directly within the Octopus Newsroom environment, through the use of Swift’s HTML5 plugin.
Octopus Newsroom develops newsroom applications with features that simplify news production and collaboration. The company’s NRCS for journalists, editors and producers, which can be accessed on-premises or as a cloud-based service, integrates into existing workflows.
Swift News gives journalists complete control over their content, while maintaining consistent on-air graphics that align with the station's brand identity. The new HTML5 plugin includes fully animated graphics previews. Journalists can now view complete animations of their graphics directly within their Octopus interface, as a confidence check for how the final broadcast will appear on air.
To unify the user experience and make production operations more efficient, the interface keeps the same look and feel as the Swift Live browser interface available for gallery graphics operators.
Built on a robust software foundation, the new interface is designed with enough flexibility to allow the RT Software developers to respond adequately to future customer requirements, and support new innovations as they are requested.
Jan Polák, Head of projects APAC at Octopus Newsroom said, "The Swift News integration is a great addition to our newsroom solutions. RT Software continues to impress with their innovative graphics solutions."
Mike Fredriksen, RT Software's Commercial Director, commented, "We're confident that Octopus Newsroom customers will be keen to explore this latest development. Our goal is to make the process of getting graphics on air as simple and efficient as possible, and to bring significant value to newsroom operations."
Swift News not only suits daily news reports and sports shows, but also covers special one-off events such as national elections or major sporting events, due to its versatile integration with external data sources. rtsw.co.uk
