The Dante Studio 2.0 suite software now gives operators greater visibility and better acces to Dante-enabled devices across the AV network for new workflows and monitoring.
The Dante Studio 2.0 software is available now with updated functionality and and new subscription pricing. Dante Studio is a software suite of applications used to bring Dante AV video flows directly into the user’s PC from Dante-enabled cameras, encoders and transmitters, or from other computers on the network also running Dante Studio. No further hardware is needed.
Dante Studio is part of the Dante AV family of AV-over-IP networking systems that make up the Dante AV control and management platform. Dante AV exists in two formats. The Dante AV Ultra hardware module is for applications that need sub-frame latency, high resolutions, precise timing and real-time performance. Dante AV-H suits rapid time-to-market applications for H.26x endpoints.
The three Dante Studio applications -- Dante RX, Dante TX and Dante Video Viewer -- work closely with each other and with Dante enabled devices, supporting practical, flexible workflows for video production and broadcast.
Dante Domain Manager Support
One of the most important Dante Studio 2.0 updates is support for Dante Domain Manager. This software is used to organise all of the networked audio and video devices into a structure according to function and purpose. It also secures the network with user access control, active monitoring and remote access for system maintenance and support, and tracks events occuring on the network, at all times.
Domain Manager sets up user authentication and role definitions for the Dante Controller networking software to prevent unauthorised changes from occurring on the system. Dante Controller handles the routing, naming and configuration of the network’s audio and video devices, so that operators can control the complete AV network via a single interface.
In effect, Dante Domain Manager and Dante Controller are the foundation of a Dante AV network. Dante Studio 2.0 now gains access to the timely, detailed information that Domain Manager generates from the network.
Access to Video Flows
Other new features in Dante Studio 2.0 include Dante AV-H support in the Dante Video RX and and Dante Video Viewer applications. Computers can receive a video signal directly from Dante AV Ultra or Dante AV-H transmitters, cameras or other computers running Dante Studio on their network. Dante Video RX presents the video stream as a webcam or video source to applications that support the Microsoft DirectShow interface, often used in broadcast or video production.
Dante Video Viewer is a standalone application that allows you to see and monitor a Dante video stream from any Dante enabled device or computer sharing its screen with Dante Video TX (see below) on the Dante network in real time.
Dante Studio 2.0 now supports sending video flows from Dante Video TX to Dante AV Ultra-enabled devices. Using Dante Video TX, you can capture a display connected to your PC and transmit the captured video over the Dante Network. Users can then send this video stream to Dante AV Ultra receivers or to another instance of Dante Studio, using either Dante Video RX to bring the video into applications, or using Video Viewer to view the video in a standalone app.
Dante Studio is available as a 7-day free trial or as a monthly subscription, which makes sure the software is always up-to-date with the recent improvements from Dante’s developer Audinate. www.audinate.com
