Projective Technology and LucidLink have formed a strategic partnership devoted to improving cloud-based workflows, and supporting post-production collaboration. It aims to unify project organisation to help creative teams work efficiently across disparate locations.
Projective Technology is a software company that specialises in tools that broadcasters, creative agencies and production facilities use to structure post-production workflows. LucidLink develops products that give remote and local users instant access to stored data in support of real-time collaboration.
By integrating Projective’s post-production collaboration platform, Strawberry, with LucidLink’s remote connectivity, the two companies are assisting users to run their projects in the cloud from the start. The combination removes creative silos without loss of control over data, and eases collaboration. The integration preserves the structure, security and versatility of Strawberry and extends it with the scale and global accessibility of LucidLink, making enterprise-wide (instead of local facility-wide) post-production possible and speeding up time-to-delivery.
Scaling Up in the Cloud

The Strawberry post-production platform uses metadata extraction and proxy file generation to add intelligence to project management, permissions and sharing. With its asset and project-based search capabilities, users can then use the integrated system to locate their content quickly, from remote locations. Strawberry is capable of searching LucidLink’s entire high-performance cloud file system, Filespaces.
Beyond searches, capabilities such as Strawberry's review and approval framework, Avid-style bin locking and workflow tools for Adobe Creative Cloud can now also be extended to remote users through LucidLink’s remote connectivity features. Secure, authenticated downloads from, or uploads to, LucidLink Filespaces can be done through a regular web browser, so that users do not need to install the LucidLink client application.
Strawberry’s quotas system gives administrators an accurate overview of the actual storage space that each managed team consumes. It enables granular control of storage usage, and makes it possible for companies to produce detailed billing for clients.

The combined system aligns with MovieLabs’ 2030 Vision and gives creatives the means to fulfill its goals – to become more efficient, flexible and faster. Launched in 2019 by the Hollywood studios, this plan for the adoption of new techniques and systems to aid in content production, post and VFX, sets out ten principles to establish a framework for more secure and interoperable workflows. The vision ultimately aims to give creatives a chance to focus on their visual storytelling skills.
