TVC Soho chose EditShare shared storage for a new, high-performance finishing service running DaVinci Resolve, fast enough for high-res media without compromising quality or workflows.

TVC Soho post-production facility, based in the middle of London’s media district, supplies editorial, grading and audio services for broadcasters and film studios, located locally or globally. In the facility’s data lab, rushes can be processed from any camera format and delivered as edit suite media, LTO backup or web dailies.
Format and frame-rate conversions, data conforms, colour science and workflow management are carried out as well. Offline/Online sessions take place at their Avid cutting rooms in Soho, or at remote sites, linked by Nexis shared storage for collaborative editing.
However, for their finishing workflows, they looked in particular for storage that could deliver the necessary throughput for high-resolution media, without compromising image quality. TVC Soho has selected EditShare shared storage as the foundation for a new, high-performance finishing environment running DaVinci Resolve.
Post-production workflows such as those for VFX and finishing need to prioritise speed, density and efficiency. On this new system, multiple editorial and grading suites at TVC Soho can run 12bit DPX workflows concurrently from the same node.
Scalability, Availability and Asset Management
The facility will implement a 128TB Ultimate EFS NVMe system alongside an Ultimate EFS-310, adding up to 192TB of scalable storage. This high-bandwidth architecture is designed for smooth, uninterrupted 4K/8K performance and will remain fully compatible with TVC’s existing Avid offline editing workflows.

Beyond the speed of NVMe storage, the EFS 310 adds features that make it especially useful in this installation. Its modular architecture is straightforward to expand as demand for capacity grows and the unified namespace allows new storage nodes to be added without manipulating volumes or user accounts, or interrupting workflows. Meanwhile, assets remain centralised.
For environments that need constant uptime, the EFS 310 supports mathematical reconstruction via XOR parity, and protects against unauthorised copying, giving it resilience against node failures. Also, EditShare’s SwiftRead technology allows uninterrupted access to files by dynamically re-routing data traffic if nodes are congested.
EFS 310 comes with FLOW Asset Management, which makes tasks like cataloguing, logging and search quicker to access. Using FLOW Automation, users can set up any of these processes as automated workflows. NLE panels for DaVinci Resolve are fully integrated as well for the finishing team.
Collaborative Teams
Marc Collins, Managing Director of TVC Soho noted, “EditShare has the performance we need currently for Resolve, together with the scalability to grow further. We also have the reassurance of working with a familiar supplier with local support and spares here in the UK.”

The solution is being delivered in collaboration with Jigsaw24 Media, a specialist media systems integrator supporting creative and production environments across the UK.
Once live, the new environment will serve as TVC Soho’s unified platform to keep media accessible across collaborative teams. As mentioned, the architecture also establishes a foundation for future growth, including potential expansion of offline editorial capacity.
“Post-production facilities today are balancing the need for extreme finishing performance with the demands of teams that are becoming more distributed,” said Brad Turner, CEO of EditShare. “By combining NVMe speed with our EFS file system, TVC Soho now has a high-bandwidth foundation that doesn’t just power their Resolve suites, but also enables the remote workflows and collaborative flexibility required in a modern media hub.”
The system is scheduled for installation in the coming weeks. https://editshare.com/
