NEP Platform brings production tools from multiple vendors into a single interface, where operators configure their own software setups while NEP manages security and monitoring.

NEP Platform Web

NEP Group has launched NEP Platform, a software orchestration system designed to help media companies manage infrastructure and hybrid production workflows from a unified, secure interface.

The platform consolidates the deployment of production applications from multiple vendors, giving operators control over workflow design through a single system. It is currently running in a number of NEP's own facilities worldwide, including new software-based mobile units recently launched in Australia and Norway, and is now commercially available to users wishing to integrate it into their own facilities, supported by NEP's engineering teams.

Configuring with Agility

NEP Platform consists of a diverse collection of software applications for media production. Core production functions – including vision mixing, audio mixing, replay, infrastructure, multiview and measurement – are available via Bridge Technologies, Calrec, Grass Valley, Lawo, Manifold, Panasonic, Sony and Sony's Hawk-Eye Innovations. Further options are planned. Operators can configure the appropriate setup with software of their choice, ready for use at each event, as a simple process and adjust resources as needed.

Martin Stewart, CEO of NEP Group, said the launch reflects broader shifts in how the industry is adopting software. "Companies are delivering more content, across more markets, to more audiences than ever before, and that requires great agility," he said. "Our goal has always been to simplify content production so our users can deliver their content securely and at scale."

Responsive Resource Allocation

Instead of requiring major rebuilds as needs change, NEP Platform is designed for growth through new applications and software updates. According to NEP, this approach has several practical advantages for users.

The platform allocates computing resources automatically as production demands shift. This process gives teams visibility into how infrastructure, licences and resources are being used so costs can be forecast more accurately. NEP’s team manages security centrally, with continuous vulnerability scanning, identity and access controls, encryption and ongoing monitoring built in. The system also validates application versions and configurations at each deployment.

NEP said that by scaling intelligently, the platform can help productions reduce power consumption and the need to ship hardware between locations.

More Choice, Less Complexity

Dan Murphy, VP of NEP Platform, commented that the system is intended to give users enough choice without adding to its complexity. "From a single interface, teams can launch the applications they prefer, deploy workflows quickly and scale as production needs change," he said. "With this approach to managing infrastructure, users can move to software-based solutions that work alongside existing hardware – protecting prior investments while positioning them to take advantage of future technology."

NEP has developed the platform as an extension of its longstanding focus on both software development and live production, stating that the future of the sector will depend not on hardware or software in isolation, but on how effectively the two can be integrated.

NEP Platform will be demonstrated at the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas, 18–22 April. platform.nepgroup.com
