Avid introduces a series of micro-certifications through collaboration with educational platform Post Super, giving trainees a full understanding of their role within the post-production system.
Avid has introduced a series of micro-certifications through a new collaboration with partner Post Super, an educational platform specialising in post-production.
The Avid/Post Super co-branded courses and micro-certifications are created and developed by professional people from within the industry, and draw on their working experiences and best practices. Each module is designed to give trainees a comprehensive understanding of their role within the broader post-production system, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate complex projects with confidence and precision.
In addition to technical instruction, the certifications also delve into the underlying principles and philosophy behind effective post-production workflows. From the basics of the cutting room to collaborative editing skills, learners will gain a deeper appreciation for the art and science of post, and the ability to progress in their craft.
Holistic Understanding
These certifications are opportunities to take Avid training beyond conventional level-based certifications to role-based certifications. After teaching what buttons to press, this approach also explores the reasons why, exposing the context for post-production workflows and deliverables.
Avid Senior Director of Global Learning Partnerships Bryan Castle said, “Post production is the heartbeat of the entertainment industry, yet traditional certification models often fall short of giving learners the holistic understanding required to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Recognizing this gap, Avid and Post Super are partnering to bridge it, delivering micro-certifications tailored to specific roles within a typical post-production environment.”
Post Super is an official Avid Learning Partner, who will be authorised to deliver Avid’s wider catalogue of official courses and certifications. Avid’s Director of Learning Content Development, Curtis Poole said, “Our collaboration with the team at Post Super is the first of several speciality content partnerships to come that will expand the scope and reach of our library to help students and professionals broaden their skills into new areas of competency. These courses can be accessed by all Avid Learning Central subscribers, with micro-certifications available through the global network of Professional and Academic Avid Learning Partners.”
