MSI’s professional AI-ready laptops are built with new Intel CPUs – the Intel Core Ultra with an integrated NPU, and the Intel 14th Gen HX-series – plus MSI’s AI software and NVIDIA GPUs.
MSI 16 AI Studio
MSI has developed a new lineup of professional AI-powered laptops built with new Intel CPUs - the Intel Core Ultra processor, designed with an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and the most recent Intel 14th Gen HX-series processors. The new models feature MSI’s AI software and NVIDIA GPUs.
Hardware AI and Graphics Components
Intel Core Ultra has new silicon architecture, AI capabilities and ARC integrated graphics, and is built with up to eight Xe cores. The Core Ultra configuration delivers much greater graphical performance compared to previous generations, supporting a range of tasks including standard office applications, streaming, light content creation and gaming.
ARC GPUs are noted for their hardware-based ray tracing, supersampling based on neural networks and DirectX 12 Ultimate, with DisplayPort 2.0 and overclocking. ARC’s XeSS super-sampling gives smooth performance at 1080p resolution and medium settings. Its SOC tile includes a media engine supporting advanced video codecs like AV1, H.265 and VP9 for streaming quality with lower performance demands.
MSI M16 HX
Laptops that are powered by these new Intel Core Ultra processors are capable of handling sustained AI workloads. Their dedicated NPU, optimised for AI tasks, are built on the new Intel 4 process node. The Core Ultra's Low Power Efficient (LPE) cores help to minimise power use for routine tasks.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs inside MSI Laptops run on NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture, and feature AI-supported DLSS 3 with full ray tracing capabilities. The specialised AI Tensor Cores also push performance for AI capabilities applied to that same range of creation, gaming and day to day tasks.
MSI AI Software
As well as these hardware components, MSI has developed AI-driven software. Its AI Engine addresses the user experience and efficiency issues by automatically optimising laptop settings such as display, audio, power profiles and keyboard backlight based on the application the user is working with.
DLSS 3 with ray-tracing
AI Artist, a text-to-image service, is available and designed to use offline to avoid network latency and security risks, using the performance of the laptops instead of relying on online services. Its features include image-to-image and image-to-text content generation, export of layered PSD files for Photoshop editing and other abilities.
AI Noise Cancellation Pro, which merges microphone hardware with AI-powered noise cancellation software, delivers voice content for remote meetings or professional recording, even in noisy environments, with customisable microphone pickup positions.
New Laptops – Content Creation Series and Prestige AI Series
MSI has updated its content creation lineup with their new Creator Z17 HX Studio, Creator 16 AI Studio, Creator M14, and Creator M16 HX laptops.
MSI Creator M14
The Creator Z17 HX Studio has an Intel Core i9-13980HX processor – the most recent 14th generation – with up to 24 cores, NVIDIA GPUs and a vapour chamber cooler thermal design to give it a power advantage that helps improve processing times for content creation software.
The new Creator 16 AI Studio features a 16:10 OLED display for accuracy and lifelike visual quality, and weighs less than 2 kg. It can be specified with a CPU up to Intel Core Ultra 9 - which includes the Intel AI neural processing unit (NPU) - and NVIDIA GPUs, with MSI's AI-Engine and AI-Artist.
Expanding MSI’s options in content creation laptops, the new Creator M14 has a 13th Generation Intel Core i7-13620H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU that can be specified up to 8GB and GDDR6. The Creator M16 HX is built with Intel’s Core i9 14900HX CPU and GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, also with up to 8GB and GDDR6.
Creator Z17 HX Studio
The Prestige AI series are also powered by the Intel Core Ultra processors and incorporate NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series laptop GPUs. Certified by Intel Evo and NVIDIA Studio, the Prestige 16 AI and Prestige 14 AI series are built to combine high performance for creative applications with portability. The top of the range is the lightweight Prestige 16 AI, weighing only 1.5kg, with a 99.9 Watt hrs battery for an estimated 19hrs battery life. The Prestige 14 AI follows with a thin design and a 90 Watt hrs battery. Both models support up to PD 3.1 140W charging.
The Prestige 13 AI Evo, weighing 990g, has a 75Watt hrs battery. Both the Prestige 16 AI and Prestige 13 AI Evo feature 16:10 OLED displays with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. www.msi.com
