Streambox software works with Blackmagic UltraStudio and DeckLink devices and DaVinci Resolve Studio to create custom post production and monitoring workflows based in the cloud.
Streambox has integrated its Spectra and Iris software streaming encoding and decoding applications to use with Blackmagic Design’s UltraStudio and DeckLink capture and playback devices. The software works with Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Studio editing, colour grading, visual effects and audio post production software to create a post production workflow based in the cloud.
Through this approach, users can see their images at same quality in the same context wherever they are working, as they would in a studio monitoring set-up.
Streambox products stream and display live video, up to 4K 12-bit quality, across public and private networks, reliably and at original quality, in order to support contribution to remote collaborative workflows. Over time the company has been innovative in their development of tools for streaming high quality video and audio, specialising in remote workflows for the media industry.
Streambox’s Spectra and Iris software lines both integrate with DaVinci Resolve Studio using industry standard APIs and can now be used with all models of UltraStudio or DeckLink.
Streambox Spectra carries out high performance streaming media encoding for users working with cloud based applications, and becomes a tool to view accurate, high quality versions of media with low latency. Spectra can also deliver a high quality, low latency stream to multiple remote collaborators using DaVinci Resolve Studio, anywhere in the world.
Blackmagic UltraStudio
On the remote client side, Iris can be used to set up a software decoder supported by Blackmagic UltraStudio devices, which gives users the ability to connect to a chosen SDI or HDMI professional monitor for the desired quality of output.
The demand for the ability to encode and decode high quality images within Streambox workflows in the cloud has grown in parallel with greater use of DaVinci Resolve Studio in the new Blackmagic Cloud workflow. “There has been a great deal of interest from the colourist community to find ways to use the cloud and replicate the results virtually that they were getting on premises,” said Bob Hildeman, Streambox CEO.
Blackmagic DeckLink
“By making it possible to work with any of Blackmagic’s capture and playback products, our clients can design an end to end Streambox software workflow. This can be used with DaVinci Resolve, or other post production products on premise or in the cloud, assuring users that their teams and colleagues will all be viewing and working with the same quality images.” www.blackmagicdesign.com
