The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo A1M is thin and light, built for portability and performance, and features Wi-Fi 7 wireless connection. Its internal build includes six P-cores, eight E-cores and two Low Power E-cores, with Intel Arc Graphics and an NPU.
This hybrid architecture combines CPU cores of varying sizes, named Performance-cores, or P-cores, and Efficient-cores, or E-cores, and the newer low power E-Core. Used for different kinds of work, the different sizes optimise between power efficiency and speed. P-cores have the traditional Intel design built for high clock speeds and hyper-threading. The smaller E-cores consume less power but are slower and lack hyper-threading, and the low power E-cores take further measures to save power.
The NPU, or neural processing unit, is a processor specialised to execute machine learning algorithms, which are the basis of AI applications. Unlike CPUs and GPUs, NPUs are optimised to handle the complex mathematical computations needed for artificial neural networks. They are able to process huge amounts of data in parallel, supporting image recognition, natural language processing and other AI-related functions.
The new Wi-Fi 7 network connection carries more data in each transmission, making it faster overall than Wi-Fi 6/6E. Its potential maximum data rate of nearly 5.8 Gbps helps when streaming high-quality video or downloading large files.
Prestige 13 AI Evo comes standard with MSI Intelligent features. The MSI AI Engine is able to detect user activities and automatically adjust hardware settings accordingly to achieve the best performance through tuned modes and resources. With the computer’s AI Noise Cancellation Pro and Spatial Array Microphone set-up across three mics, sound quality is preserved in noisy environments.
The laptop’s Intel Evo Edition certification indicates, as a minimum, charging equal to four hours of battery life in 30 minutes, 10 hours of battery life with a 1080p screen, 1.5 seconds to resume functioning from a sleep state and cool, quiet operation.
The OLED display panel, with wide 16:10 aspect ratio, produces pure blacks, bright whites and high contrast colours, a combination intended to make extended viewing more comfortable and accurate. It measures 13.3 inches with 2.8K (2880 x 1800) resolution, and displays 100% DCI-P3 colour space.
For those working outside of an office, the laptop has a long-lasting battery and a Thunderbolt 4 port with PD (Power Delivery Revision) 3.0, capable of delivering power up to 100W through a single cable. This specification makes it possible to power multiple devices simultaneously.
