Avid’s MediaCentral panel now supports Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to bring graphic designers directly into broadcast production workflows and simplify content contribution.
TV newsrooms and production teams can now work directly with graphic designers using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects within their Avid MediaCentral production workflows, through the MediaCentral panel. The panel is a lightweight plugin that now includes support for both Photoshop and After Effects, and avoids the manual tasks graphic designers usually need to perform in order to contribute to large-scale production projects and keep track of their content.
Adobe Photoshop and After Effects users can store images, clips, graphical elements and other content for access anywhere, anytime on the open Avid MediaCentral platform.
Graphic designers with access to Avid NEXIS storage store and catalogue their assets and projects through the MediaCentral panel. Their team members can access and edit material on-the-fly and send the updated content back into Avid production workflows. Teams are able to immediately locate individual design elements in archived content, saving time and preventing the need to save files on a separate storage platform.
“Until now, graphic designers have been kept at the periphery of news and post production teams. With support for Photoshop and After Effects, the MediaCentral panel means designers can be made part of the production workflow,” said Raúl Alba, Avid’s Director of Solutions Marketing, Media and Cloud.
“As third-party integrations continuously appear on the open MediaCentral platform, media enterprises will be able to continue widening their circle of collaboration and contribution. Furthermore, generating content faster is expected to be less complex and more efficient.”
Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premier Pro editors can make use of MediaCentral’s capabilities to integrate within existing workflows, resulting in a continuous editing experience. This process increases flexibility by opening workflows directly into the production environment, raising the level of access and real-time collaboration. Creatives can also preview MediaCentral-managed assets directly in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects without having to import media.
