What makes a hot-shot editor or a great edit?
Edit Royale is a fun, live interactive event brought to you by the Australian Screen Editors. Live at Digistor's offices in Sydney, five editors have two hours to edit a one-minute music video from the same set of rushes. The race is on to stand out before the audience votes on who will be the winner.
This year, editors will find some secret challenges to push them out of their comfort zones and inspire their creativity. You will be supplied with a computer (Mac), special calibrated monitor (EIZO), your editing software of choice (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve), a choice of music tracks (from Audio Network), plus all media files ready to edit.
The editor who produces the best edit of the night will win great prizes. Every competitor will also receive a copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio plus a DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor, plus goodies and swag courtesy of the event sponsors.

Those who can’t attend on the night may register to watch the live stream. You'll also be able to vote for your favourite via mobile.
The competition is fierce and spaces are limited. The five competing editors will be selected from the applicants and announced in Mid July.
