Ateme+ makes Ateme’s video-processing software available in an agile business model, bringing transformative tools and cloud-based access and functionality to users everywhere.
Video processing from Ateme is now cloud-centric via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) following today’s launch of Ateme+. The service makes Ateme’s video-processing software available in a more agile business model, bringing transformative tools and cloud-based access and functionality to users all over the world.
Ateme’s processing capabilities include encoding/decoding, compression and encryption. For instance, Ateme+ Live makes sure that each content taker can receive the feeds in the required format with a PAYG or subscription model. The user maintains owner-managed environments to create and route feeds, manage rights permissions and update bookings automatically.
Ateme+ File supports AV1, VP9, H.264, HEVC, VVC, MKV, WebM, MPEG-DASH and HLS codecs with algorithms that optimise for quality, bandwidth and storage. Suitable for 4K and 8K, it analyzes the media, cuts it into fragments, distributes it to transcoders and restitches.
"We are seeing demand for more flexibility in content processing in terms of both the business model and the scale. Ateme+ can deliver on these requirements, while also supplying the same quality of experience our existing customers are accustomed to," said Jean-Louis Lods, Vice President of Media & Monetization at Ateme.
By adopting Ateme+, broadcasters, service providers and streaming platforms will only pay for the functionality and capacity they need when they need it, shifting spend away from Capex investment and toward a more flexible, predictable operational cost model. A straightforward management console makes onboarding simpler and access time quicker, and helps to lower overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
"This means we can give more choice to video service providers," said Remi Beaudouin, Chief Strategy Officer at Ateme. "They can now choose between the traditional licensing model, Software as a Service, or a hybrid model where they mix the two."
Ateme+ has been developed as a cloud-agnostic platform. It will be delivered using optimised compute through AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Supporting varying resolutions, Ateme+ is available as a subscription or pay-as-you-go service and remains scalable according to customer needs. Redundancy is built into the service to maximize uptime and reliability.
The SaaS product includes customization options and gives users a single pane of glass style of management for configuration, monitoring, user management and key metrics via the one console. As a way of enhancing flexibility and agility, Ateme also oversees scaling the platform and implementing regular product updates. www.ateme.com
