Vizrt has developed three new products – Viz Flowics, Viz Data Connectors and Viz Social – following the company’s acquisition of live graphics specialist Flowics and integration of Flowics’ applications into the wider Vizrt product portfolio.
The resulting new products are designed to suit production workflows for users ranging from broadcasters and service providers to streamers and YouTube producers, whose requirements continuously change.
Tehseen Akhtar, Deputy Global Head of Product Management said that the new software serves to optimise their graphics portfolio, pushing further into such areas as HTML5 graphics, cloud systems, adaptive graphics, augmented reality and AI-driven virtual sets.
Cloud-native HTML5 Graphics
Viz Flowics is a cloud-native HTML5 graphics creation and rendering engine, built with a straightforward interface that will also suit beginners without a design background. Its drag-and-drop features and animation tools simplify the process of creating and publishing customised cloud graphics and data-driven overlays.
The application includes the tools needed to create broadcast-quality 2D graphics from a regular browser, including widgets and data providers to create different kinds of live overlays and full screen graphics. It has custom fonts, backgrounds and colours. Users can apply animation presets, define duration and delays and configure their own in/out transitions.
A Rundown Control is available to create graphics playlists that also give the operator options to sort, rename and duplicate overlays.
Code-free Data Integration
Viz Data Connectors is now a separate tool within the Vizrt portfolio used to integrate live data providers with any graphics engine, either in a cloud or on-premises. As a code-free application, Viz Data Connectors simplifies and eases the process of integrating data from external data sources without needing custom data integration. From the point of logging in, an operator can start creating data-driven graphics. Also, by adding the Graphics Data Bridge, users have an efficient, secure transfer for integrating data from on-premise data sources to Viz Flowics graphics in the cloud.
Gabriel Baños, co-founder of Flowics, said, “We will continue to develop and support data integrations not just within the Vizrt portfolio, but also include other graphics platforms and broadcast engine workflows.”
Viz Data Connectors catalogue
Viz Data Connectors has a comprehensive catalogue of no-code links to live data sources to help turn around live graphics displaying information that is useful to viewers, such as sports statistics, finance information and weather patterns.
The Flowics backend now runs a new version of Viz Social, just released in March of 2023 as a way to connect directly with viewers. It makes it possible to curate, moderate and visualise audience views within the programming, and to use data from Viz Social to review and refine programming.
This updated version has a new, modern interface and is faster and simpler to use. It features a series of integrations with social media and messaging platforms, and Viz Social users can also incorporate custom data from RSS and JSON feeds. www.flowics.com
