TAG Video Systems has formed a strategic partnership with LiveU, a specialist in live IP video and remote production systems. This collaboration will hand live news and sports broadcasters the means to deliver live video experiences with continuous control over quality.
Through this partnership, TAG Video Systems' varied real-time media performance systems will be able to monitor LiveU's live video transmission feeds, notify users of errors according to custom set thresholds and visualise them in real-time. This integration will be particularly beneficial for live news and sports production, where maintaining original video quality and catching issues before they impact viewers is critical.
Broadcasters will gain real-time visibility and insights into the health and performance of live video streams from remote locations, giving a them the chance to ensure smooth on-air delivery of breaking news and sporting events. The system will also support proactive problem solving, identifying potential issues like signal degradation, allowing for immediate corrective action.
Broadcast teams can use TAG's robust analysis tools to optimise LiveU's resilient transmission when faced with challenging networks, based on its LiveU Reliable Transport (LRT) protocol. LRT supports low latency, high resiliency video and audio transmission accommodating the properties of 4G/5G cellular as well as regular wireless and wired networks, in particular supporting the bonding of multiple IP connections. It achieves reliability and bandwidth consistency by applying multiple resiliency transmission techniques simultaneously such as packet ordering, acknowledge & resend, dynamic FEC and Adaptive Bitrate Encoding.
