Interra Systems has successfully completed the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Foundational Technical Review (FTR) of its ORION-OTT monitoring software for quality assurance of OTT streams, in the cloud or on-premises. Interra Systems is a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN), a global community of AWS Partners that take advantage of programs, expertise and resources to build, market and sell services.
Earlier this year, Interra’s BATON quality control platform, which is automated through machine learning and AI, also passed an AWS FTR. When using BATON and ORION-OTT in the cloud, media companies have access to the newer, faster processors deployed in the AWS cloud environment for performance, and have the flexibility of cloud to help them set up content production and delivery from anywhere in the world.
Operators also have more control over video quality and viewer experience – while running their media workflows on AWS, they can be more certain of delivering high-quality video through end-to-end quality checks and monitoring.
FloSports video streaming service has been deploying Interra Systems’ ORION-OTT in the cloud. Dedicated to sports, the company gives liveand on-demand access to hundreds of thousands of events across over 25 vertical sports categories in the US and abroad.

FTRs help APN members like Interra Systems identify and remediate risks in their products or services. The AWS FTR is led by an AWS Partner Solutions Architect who reviews independent software vendor (ISV) equipment and systems against a specific set of security, reliability and operational excellence requirements.
Using a series of audio/video quality analysis techniques, Interra Systems’ ORION-OTT monitors both live services and video on demand (VOD) assets, in the cloud or on-premises. It is a scalable means of verifying Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) videos for monitoring Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE). ORION-OTT also carries out passive monitoring of origin server performance and end-user devices to understand recurrent issues and their causes.
