The Haivision Makito X4 video encoder and decoder has been verified compatible with the KAIROS IT/IP platform for live video production, developed at Panasonic Connect.
Haivision’s Makito X4 series of video encoders and decoders has been tested and verified as compatible with Panasonic Connect’s live production IT/IP platform, KAIROS.
KAIROS’ flexibility allows the combination of many varied video and graphical sources, supporting SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDIÒ and SRT inputs and outputs. For remote workflows, Haivision Makito X4 encoders and decoders feed high-quality, low-latency video contribution, monitoring and distribution to KAIROS over SRT.
“We’re delighted to become a KAIROS Alliance Partner,” said Peter Maag, Chief Strategy Officer and EVP, Strategic Partnerships at Haivision. “Haivision is committed to the continuous development of reliability, quality and flexibility for broadcast customers. We understand that integrated systems are built on partnerships and interoperability.”
“We’re pleased to add Haivision’s Makito X4 video encoder and decoder to our list of tested third-party products,” said Kageyuki (Kenny) Fujimoto, lead manager of KAIROS Alliance Partners. “Interoperability ensures that customers will be able to directly integrate their existing solutions for maximum efficiency with room to scale as their video processing needs expand.”
Haivision’s Makito X4 video encoder supports 4K UHD and quad-HD inputs either as a portable appliance for field deployment or as a blade within a high-density 4RU rackmount chassis supporting up to 84 HD or 21 4K inputs. The Makito X4 also supports 10-bit 4:2:2 video, HDR and SMPTE ST 2110 inputs for all IP contribution. www.haivision.com
