Like the rest of the Direkt link backpack range, the new Direkt link compact is designed for high quality live broadcast over the Internet. This new addition is aimed at single camera sports and news productions where a highly agile, small crew is of the essence.
In today’s fast turnaround news and sports environment, journalists need a streamline, grab-and-go solution, with nothing more complicated to do than hit the on button. With Direkt link compact, Intinor has developed a system that needs no specialist technical skill on location but delivers all the capability required to capture and create exciting content.
This newest addition to the Direkt range is aimed at single camera sports and news productions where a highly agile, small crew is of the essence. With true point-to-point connection, it removes the additional cost of cloud subscriptions and avoids latency. Supporting a 4-wire intercom for comms with the master control room (MCR), return video path and VPN for remotely controlling PTZ cameras or similar, Direkt link features two built-in modems, with the option for additional modems to be added as required.
In keeping with the entire Direkt link range, Direkt link compact relies on Intinor’s proprietary Bifrost Reliable Transport (Bifrost™) protocol, which incorporates a uniquely effective forward error correction, re-sending (ARQ) and adaptive bitrate as well as network bonding to ensure maximum quality, stability, and reliability of the links; this delivers more straightforward remote network management and monitoring in the field directly from the control room. Direkt link compact has also been designed to ensure the ultra-low latency (0.5 seconds) that Intinor is known for – vital in applications such as news and live sports.
