ATEM Television Studio is a new family of all-in-one live production switchers that combine broadcast features with extreme portability. These new switchers have built-in broadcast-grade control panels and advanced features such as streaming and recording. There are three models to choose from, including ATEM Television Studio HD8 ($2,995 USD) which has eight 3G-SDI inputs, streaming, recording, multiview, DVE, keyers, USB webcam (for streaming, the webcam output also works with streaming software such as Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster and more), media players, talkback and optional cloud storage. The ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO model ($3,995 USD) includes all the features of ATEM Television Studio HD8 plus ISO recording of all eight inputs and supports up to eight remote cameras with control and tally for each camera. Finally, ATEM Television Studio 4K8 ($4,595 USD) combines all the features of the ATEM Television Studio HD8 with additional support for Ultra HD standards up to 2160p60.The new ATEM Television Studio is a professional live production switcher built into a broadcast control panel so it can be used for high-end work while being extremely portable.
This means users can use it in small venues that don't have the access for equipment racks or broadcast vans. Users get a powerful switcher with eight standards-converted 12G-SDI inputs, 10 x 12G-SDI aux outputs, four chroma keyers, two downstream keyers, SuperSource, two media players and lots of transitions. Plus, it includes a whole television studio of features such as hardware streaming, recording, audio mixer, talkback, multiview and optional internal network shared storage.With a built-in hardware streaming engine, users can live stream to a global audience. For example, recording to H.264 files with AAC audio provides the correct format to easily upload to YouTube.
Live stream to Facebook, Twitch and more in better video quality and without dropped frames. This makes streaming easy to set up, and the convenient data rate indicator shows the internet speed required. If users are technically minded, they can even update the streaming profiles in an XML settings file to add new services.With ATEM Television Studio, users can live stream using Ethernet or via a mobile phone connected to the USB port. Once they have connected Ethernet to the internet, they will get a streaming key from the streaming service. With the ATEM Software Control switcher page, users select the streaming service they want to use from the streaming palette, and the server they want to use that’s closest to their location, and then enter the streaming key. Unless users have speed-limited internet access, they can select Streaming High for the quality. Next, they press the on-air button on the panel and will see the program video live on their streaming service. They can even monitor streaming status on the multiview.The ATEM Television Studio combines a switcher and control panel into the same unit, so it’s extremely portable.
The front panel includes buttons for selecting sources, triggering transitions and setting up video effects. Users also get a built-in t-bar for manual transition control. The front panel even has an innovative audio mixer control area with live metering on a dedicated LCD.With eight SDI video inputs, ATEM Television Studio lets users connect multiple cameras for different views of the performance. Video cameras with SDI outputs, such as Blackmagic Studio Camera or Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, are much better quality as they have better lowlight performance and use professional lenses. All video sources will re-sync to the switcher, even if they operate at different video standards. Everything just works so setup on location is easy and users don't have to worry about technical problems.Users can select from exciting transitions such as dissolve, or more dramatic effects such as dip to color, DVE squeeze and DVE push. Users can even add a DVE for picture-in-picture effects with customized graphics. There are also media players which let users store graphics with alpha channels for titles and graphics that users can load as live video inputs. Then users can live stream the results. With ATEM Television Studio it's easy to get started with live streaming and multi camera video production.
